BISBridge

Connects the weighing balance to the BIS hallmarking portal.

At an Assaying and Hallmarking Centre, every article in a consignment has to be weighed, tagged and photographed, and each value typed into the BIS HUID portal by hand. BISBridge connects the balance directly to the portal, so the weight goes from the instrument into the right field without anyone reading a display and retyping it.

How it works

  1. 01Balance
  2. 02Capture
  3. 03Tag
  4. 04Photograph
  5. 05BIS portal
The balance connects over a serial port and its live reading appears beside the portal form. The operator captures the weight, assigns the tag and takes the article photo for each row, then moves to the next — without leaving the page or transcribing anything.

What BISBridge does

Live weight from the instrument

The weighing balance connects over a serial port and its reading shows live next to the form. One action captures it into the correct row — no reading a display and typing a number that has to be right.

Tag IDs assigned by range

A consignment is grouped by article type, and each group takes a tag range rather than a tag per row. The count is checked against the number of rows in the group, so a range that is too short is caught before submission rather than after.

Photographs in the same pass

HUID and article photos are captured as part of the same row-by-row flow. Weight only, photo only, or both — depending on what the article requires.

Row-by-row through the consignment

Previous, next and skip move through the item table in order, so a twenty-item consignment is worked as a sequence rather than as twenty separate trips around the screen.
